Cece was glad to be driving. She’d long since gotten rid of her phone, and didn’t need airplane records to make that maddening disconnect all for naught. She wracked her brains to figure out how Simon had found her outside the Catacombs--she’d used a fake name on the train ticket, and she’d even booked it at the station. Someone must have seen her--someone must have called him...her stomach twisted at the thought. She obviously couldn’t return to her apartment. That was half the reason she insisted on staying with the Wonder Twins here. She was tied to them now, to their success. Simon made it clear that he would never give up. Never stop hunting her. She’d seen Ava work this watch before, and if they could fully repair it--well, then Cece just might get her life back.
Plus, the doctor was fun to toy with. She yawned, as though just waking up from a nap. “Monsieur!” she cried suddenly. “You’re driving on the wrong side of the road!” The Englishman nearly jumped out of his skin and swerved the car to the far left of the empty country road.
Another car came into view over the horizon, driving right towards them and honking angrily. Abe pulled the car back to the right and glared at her in the rearview mirror.
"Just kidding,” she whispered with a grin.
